“Wheat Belly: Lose the Wheat, Lose the Weight, and Find Your Path Back to Health” is a book by MD Davis William.

Dr William Davis, a preventative cardiologist by trade, wrote Wheat Belly after witnessing over 2,000 patients improve their health as a result of cutting wheat out of their diet.

For many years, we were encouraged to eat plenty of healthy whole wheat, but the reality is that the wheat we eat today is very different from the organic wheat that existed one hundred years ago.

Wheat is everywhere in our diets – over 200 million Americans consume wheat on a daily basis, so when you consider that it might not actually be that good for us, the scale of our wheat problem becomes clear. In Wheat Belly, William Davis explains just why wheat is no good for our bodies, and why we should remove it from our diets.

Is Wheat Belly Worth Buying?

Wheat Belly is not just a simple diet book that preaches about its own benefits. More accurately, it is a scientific and historic explanation as to why modern wheat is doing us harm. It details how genetic manipulation of crops has changed since the middle of the 20th century, and how that, in turn, is affecting our bodies.

This detailed explanation serves two purposes. Firstly, it shows that the science behind the wheat free diet is not merely anecdotal, but based on facts and reality. Secondly, it gives credibility to its claims and motivates readers to follow through with their wheat free diet. By explaining why this is so important, Wheat Belly motivates readers to actually follow the plan.

The book does slightly lose its way at times. At times, Wheat Belly advocates severely limiting all kinds of carb intakes, but the science to support these claims is nowhere near as credible or thorough as that supporting the wheat claims. That being said, this is merely an aside. Dr William Davis fully explains just why we should be cutting wheat out of our diet and all of the benefits that will come to us if we do.

These benefits are not only cosmetic but health orientated too and will lead to a happier, healthier you. If you have any interest in reducing your wheat intake, then Wheat Belly is the book for you.
