There are two things in common that almost all kids share. First, they love to copy what their parents are doing. They see you washing dishes then they want to wash dishes. They see you putting on makeup, then they want to put on makeup.

The second thing that they all seem to have in common is that they need lots of entertainment. How often do they say – ‘I’m bored.’ You probably hear it all the time, right?
This kettlebell by WOD Toys addresses both of these commonalities.

If you are a parent who works out regularly your kids are sure to want to follow your example and do their own version of a ‘workout.’ Giving them this kettlebell allows them to have their own piece of fitness equipment to use. It also promotes good exercise habits that are so important to their health.

Even if it is an off day and no one around the house is exercising, this toy is still very useful in keeping kids occupied and having fun. They love swinging it around and playing with it.

Product Specs

As important as it is to get kids exercising, you obviously do not want to give them a heavy piece of equipment that they could hurt themselves or someone else with. Not to worry with this kettlebell.  It is designed for kids ages 3 to 6 and only weighs .5 pound. Kids have fun playing without there being any worry about any damages or injuries.

The kettlebell is red with a blue handle. The colors are bright the way little kids prefer them. It is made from sturdy plastic and rubber that holds up well even when it’s played with in a not so gentle manner.

What We Liked Most

Any toy that gets kids exercising and moving around is a plus. We like the way this toy lets kids emulate their parents if they happen to be working out with a kettlebell themselves. They will also enjoy playing with it at other times too like when they are outside.

Instilling good fitness habits at an early age is so important to a child’s health. This toy is one that will help to do exactly that because it gets even the youngest kids into the fitness mindset.

What We Didn’t Like

The recommended ages for this product is 3 to 6 years old. The kettlebell is .5 pound so in light of that we would say that by the time a child is 6 they would most likely be ready for one that is a bit heavier.

Final Thoughts

It is important to emphasize that even though this is a nice toy for kids, it is exactly that – a toy. It is very light weight and it helps kids get into the mindset for making exercise a regular part of their daily routine. With so much talk about the childhood obesity epidemic that is striking so many kids today, it makes sense to get them started on a healthy fitness journey now so that they have good habits ingrained in them for life.
