Resistance bands, which are also known as resistance tubes or exercise bands, are flexible tools that helps you train strength.
These bands come in various shapes and sizes, and offer different levels of resistance.
The bands also vary in prices depending on their durability and resistance levels.
Many people enjoy using such equipment to train simply because the bands are compact and portable, and making them convenient enough to be tucked away into a work bag or vacation bag.
In order to get the most out of your training, as well as tone your arms in the fastest time possible, make sure you use resistance bands that are of good quality.
Using an old set may not be ideal as they may snap and you could end up hurting yourself. So, make sure to check any secondhand sets carefully before purchasing.
You can incorporate resistance band training into just about any strength training workout. The following are some exercises you can do to tone your arms.
1) Shoulder Press
Stand on the resistance band (either foot together or slightly apart) and hold onto the handles with your palms facing forward while the band is behind your arms. Press upward and straighten the band.
2) Upright Row
Stand on the resistance band and hold the handles with your palms facing toward you. Starting with the band by your waist, pull upward towards your chest, elbows up.
3) Tricep Extensions
Start by standing on the band with one leg before adjusting the band so it provides the required level of tension. With your arm behind your back and over your head, bend your elbows before extending your arms and straightening them.
4) Squats
Stand on the resistance band and hold onto the handles with your palms facing forward and the bands behind your arms. Squat and keep your back straight at all times.
5) Lunges
Stand on the band with your right foot and hold the handles on either side of your head with your palms facing inward and the band on the inside of your arms. Step back with your left leg and do a lunge. Repeat with the other side.
Resistance Band Training is Very Effective!
Resistance training helps you lose weight quicker and tone up faster by increasing your metabolism, which in turn helps you burn off more calories.
Also, by building more muscle, your body will burn more calories at rest.
Typically, one pound of muscle gained will burn approximately five calories per day at rest over a 24 hour period, whereas fat will only burn approximately two calories per day at rest.
So the more muscles you gain, the more calories you will burn.
Conclusion
Exercising to tone up is as easy as stepping on a resistance band, stretching and flexing your arms, tightening your abs, and breathing properly.
When choosing resistance bands, the most important factor is in deciding which resistance band is appropriate for your strength level.
The better resistance bands have the ability to attach many bands to the handle (similar to adding weights on a dumbbell). Resistance bands are truly the universal exercise equipment and a must have for everyone.
