Is the Gorilla Gym Kids with Indoor Swing, Plastic Rings, Trapeze Bar, Climbing Ladder, and Swinging Rope Worth Buying?

The Gorilla Gym works just like a pull up bar, and attaches directly around your door frame. There are detailed instructions with the Gorilla Gym when ordering, and although some larger door frames will require extender Vise Grip locks which can be ordered separately, parents should measure their door frames before ordering to ensure that the Gorilla Gym will work with their intended location.

Similarly, the door being considered should be one that opens fully, as the swinging motion of many of the Gorilla Gym’s attachments require free space in front of and behind the frame.

Instillation of the Gorilla Gym is reasonably straight-forward, as is the removal and changing of the various accompanying attachments. Some parents have recommended purchasing carabiners to make this process easier, but it’s not really necessary. The attachments themselves are well made, and while some children will inevitably favour some over others, all serve a purpose. They are strong, and there is little danger of the Gorilla Gym not being able to withstand the weights placed upon it.

As strong as the Gorilla Gym is, children are adventurous, and larger children can swing quite high if their technique is right. For this reason, the swing and trapeze attachments are generally safer for younger children, as no matter how strong a device is, a child that can swing high enough to kick the ceiling is never going to end well!

Similarly, providing some padding on the ground underneath the doorframe (and even some padding on the frame itself) is not a bad idea, as not matter how careful you encourage children to be, this is a toy that will invite a few tumbles and falls. That, however, is no criticism of the Gorilla Gym, but rather a comment on the nature of children. As a product, the Gorilla Gym is absolutely superb, and there is no doubt that your children will absolutely love it.
